Here is a Biltmore Estate wedding we shot earlier this summer that never got a “teaser” blog post. ::gasp:: Since there are lots of wonderful photos from this wedding we will start you off with just a few.

There are so many aspects of wedding photography that make us jump out of our chairs with joy. One part of the thrill is the photojournalist style – also referred to as candid shots or “natural moments.” There is nothing posed or staged about these types of photos and typically the subjects are unaware their photo is being taken. And this isn’t a paparazzi scenario where we are hiding in a van taking snapshots of guests from afar; people are aware there are photographers at the wedding.

Whether it be children playing games, grandparents dancing, or the bride and groom having a moment during the ceremony, it’s these moments that reveal the true essence and emotions of people without a photographer’s direction or interference. So here are a few photo-journalistic images from Laura and Robert’s Biltmore Estate wedding. Check back next week for a full write-up and more photos from this wedding!

We had a smashing time as the photographers for this Hendersonville wedding with Christina and Seth. They are such a joyful couple – always smiling and laughing with each other. It’s obvious they are best friends and in love! What more could wedding photographers ask for in a couple?! The pre-ceremony activities began at Highland Lake Inn in Flat Rock, NC where E. Scott Thompson with Makeup at Grove Arcade applied makeup to the lovely ladies. We’ve worked alongside the talented E. Scott Thompson quite a bit lately! Everyone was then escorted in a trolley from The Trolley Company to the ceremony site in downtown Hendersonville. Guests began arriving at St. James Episcopal Church as the anticipation grew for Christina and Seth. It’s so cool being photographers because we are with the couple the entire day and we have a unique, objective viewpoint. We get to capture candid moments and subtle details that the bride and groom might not notice or be present for.

The ceremony went smoothly and then it was portrait time with the newlyweds in downtown Hendersonville. Christina wanted a picture in front of the old school Coca-Cola mural and we thought it was a fabulous idea. We love when brides get excited about their photo ops! The wedding reception was back at Highland Lake Inn where the Bloom Room’s floral work adorned the interior and PhDj kept the tunes pumping all night for guests. Enjoy the photos from their wedding!

Exciting news! Today our wedding photography is featured on Style Me Pretty, a popular blog visited by countless brides and wedding vendors (did we really have to tell ya that?!). The wedding is Jana and Noah’s fun-filled, colorful occasion with games and other entertainment for guests to enjoy. It was earlier this year at The Farm near Asheville, North Carolina and we are blessed to have been their wedding photographers. Everyone at the wedding was a complete joy to be around and photograph.

Weddings with Tara belongs to Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book and we are very thankful she submitted this wedding. Tara always knows what’s up and is constantly keeping vendors in the loop and assuring that the bride is happy and relaxed. We could go on… but basically it all translates to awesome wedding planner :)

We had an exceptionally marvelous time at this Biltmore Estate wedding with Heather and Ben and all their wonderful guests. The wedding took place on Saturday at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina and this perfect day started with everyone getting ready at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. E. Scott Thompson and his crew with Makeup at Grove Arcade did a fantastic job with the ladies’ makeup, while the gents prepared for the ceremony in their stylish suits just one room over. The wedding ceremony was on the Vista at the Inn on Biltmore with breathtaking mountain scenery. It wasn’t our first time photographing a ceremony here but it’s still amazing every time we see it!

Following the ceremony guests headed to the Lioncrest venue to party all night long at the reception. And let me tell you, these folks knew how to get down and dance! K2 out of Greensboro took care of the DJ’ing and the dance floor was full during every song. Tunes ranging from the Twist to the Macarena (yes, people still know it) to Outkast got the guests on their feet to celebrate this joyous occasion with Heather and Ben. Several of our teaser photos from this Biltmore Estate wedding feature the work of Link Johnsten from Eau Gallie Florist. He is a long time friend of the bride’s family and traveled from Florida with all his arrangements to decorate the venues. Quite lovely! We want to give a huge thank you to Nicole and the entire Biltmore catering staff for all their help. Things ran so smoothly and that is just what a happy couple-in-love deserves on their big day! The chemistry between Heather and Ben causes sparks and we are blessed to be their photographers.
