Biltmore Bridal Photography

April 9, 2011 – 1 comment

Lori looked stunning for her bridal photography at Biltmore Estate. She wore a Justin Alexander and had her makeup done by the wonderful Blush by Wendy. Her wedding is going on right now at Biltmore so we are allowed to post these now. Otherwise we might have gotten in trouble if the groom found ‘em!

The Biltmore is one of the coolest spots for a bridal session and we also were blessed with a great sky for this shoot. The Purple Iris supplied the bouquet and is doing the florals for the wedding. We are also excited to be working with Honey Darling Events on this one. We can’t wait to share photos from Lori and Clinton’s big day.

Trash the Dress Photography

February 9, 2011 – 4 comments

We were reminiscing about Liz’s trash the dress photo shoot and how to convince more of you brides to do this. Hey, you can even involve your hubby! Keep in mind, trash the dress doesn’t necessarily mean “destroy” it. There are many themes or locations that will preserve your dress following the shoot. If your reservations for trashing your dress are because your daughter will wear it in 20-30 years… well… our guess is she’ll want a new one. While we never pressure brides into these shoots, we always let them know how enjoyable they are and how neat the photos will be years down the road.

What kind of trash the dress session would you do? Ocean? Under a waterfall? Horse Riding? We wanna hear your creative ideas!

Enjoy some of these images from Jacksonville Beach, FL. We did this shoot the day after Liz and John’s wedding. Crazy to think this was over 2 years ago!

Bridal Photography at Biltmore Estate with Falon

October 2, 2010 – 2 comments

We absolutely love doing bridal photography shoots with the bride before her wedding day. It’s all about her looking fabulous in her wedding dress with out the stress of the big day. We do take photos of the bride on her actual wedding day too, but a bridal shoot is concentrated and allows us to dedicate a few hours to different locations, lighting, and above all else, making the bride look awesome!

The downside to these bridal shoots – and believe us, it’s the only one – is having to wait to publish them on our blog so the groom won’t see them. Yes, it’s selfish, but we are a tad obsessive as photographers and can’t help getting excited about a shoot. This particular bridal shoot with Falon was especially tough for us to keep from the public. She is a charming bride, we were at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, and her wedding was a whole month away.

So when is this lovely bride getting married? … Today! We scheduled this blog post to go live minutes after the couple’s first look at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. That’s how anxious we were to share these photos with the world. We timed this just right in case the groom is checking our blog from an iPhone. You never know…

Asheville make-up artist Blush by Wendy did a wonderful job with Falon’s make-up for this shoot, Suraj Spa & Salon did her hair, and the Bloom Room provided a gorgeous bouquet. And of course thanks to the bride’s mother, Nancy, for coming along with us. Enjoy our bridal photography and send your well wishes and congrats to the newlyweds, Falon and Clay! We know their wedding is going to be amazing and we will be posting a sneak peek of it next week.
