We began working together because of our passion for photography and our desire to give you an amazing experience. After meeting and graduating from UNC Asheville with Multimedia Arts degrees, we started a business that would allow us to pursue our interest in people’s stories and photography. And that’s why we are wedding photographers! Everyday we are thankful to do something we love as our full-time jobs.

What we do is really about you more than us. All our lovely couples fill out a questionnaire prior to the wedding so we can better serve them and exceed their expectations. Knowing even the littlest tidbit about someone can help us connect and deliver photos that have sentiment.

We are both award winning members of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA).

Derek Olson

I have been living in Asheville, NC for 10 years. I grew up in Baltimore, MD and relocated here in the mountains where I attended college (UNCA). I recently got engaged and am planning my wedding with my fiancé & best friend, Kristi. Having documented many weddings, I’m looking forward to experiencing my own!

My other best friends are my cat, Pierre, and my dog, Cassius. They both have ridiculously cute personalities.

Galen McGee

I’ve been lucky to live in several wonderful places, including New Orleans and for a brief time, Australia. I was down under just long enough to know I want to return some day with my cameras. I love to travel and thoroughly enjoy the pleasure and wonder of capturing the world through a camera lens. I’m delighted that photography and travel go so well together and look forward to many more moments on the road.

I settled in Asheville ten years ago, and I’m thrilled to call it home. For fun I hike and bike our Blue Ridge and enjoy the fresh mountain air. When I’m not outdoors, I’m enjoying music both as a recording enthusiast and as a musician. Combining my photography with music is a special joy.
