Ben and Sarah said “I Do” at Claxton Farm this past Spring.  With gorgeous scenery (seriously, look at those mountains), a private setting and beautiful barn, it is one of my all time favorites places to shoot a wedding.  Did I mention they have llamas?

Ben and Sarah met (and fell in love) when they both worked at a bagel shop while attending University of South Carolina.  Ben tells the story of how he chased after Sarah, begged for her to go out with him and how after many excuses and cancelled plans she finally said yes.  Together they loved to travel the world, so it was only natural Ben chose their trip to New Zealand to ask Sarah to be his lifelong travel partner.  The wedding day they surrounded themselves with their favorite things; friends, family and music.

It took me a long time to pick images for this blog-there were just so many that were my favorite!  I hope you enjoy seeing these as much as I enjoyed taking them.  Be sure to check out the awesome lists of vendors that also helped in making this a great day for Sarah & Ben.

Kristin & Keith’s North Carolina Arboretum wedding took place on a gorgeous July day in Asheville! If you have not visited the Arboretum in Asheville, you are definitely missing one of our many outdoor gems.  No matter how many times I have photographed a wedding there, I always find a new amazing spot for portraits.  This is a place made for weddings, so I was thrilled when Kristin & Keith asked me to photograph their big day.

I had the opportunity to meet and photograph them a few months before (see link), so I knew that the wedding day was going to be great.  Shay Brown Events made sure the couple’s fun personalities and true love for each other showed in every detail of the wedding. The ceremony took place in the Heritage Garden at the North Carolina Arboretum.  Following the ceremony guests headed to  On Broadway’s located in Downtown Asheville  for the reception.  The whole night was a true celebration of the couple’s love of good food, good music and great friends.  Amazing Chef Kim kept everyone full while Orange Krush kept the crowd dancing!!

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.  Be sure to check out all the links to the amazing vendor team below!

Happy 2016!  2015 started off with a bang and the momentum carried on leading Two Ring Studios to have one of our best years.  I was able to photograph some amazing couples at beautiful venues.  The only downside to this was that all my time was spent editing photos with no chance to blog.  Now with my season slowing (the calm before the 2016 storm), I knew it was time to share some of these stories.  With so many great events to chose from it was hard to pick a place to start, until yesterday when I heard from Kristin who was married at the Arboretum, so I took this as a sign to put her event up on my blog. The following photos are from Kristin and Keith’s engagement session where we roamed around downtown Asheville, the NC Arboretum and a few late night shots on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

To give you a little backgroud, Kristin and Keith met while in school at Appalachian State in Boone, NC.  Theirs was a friendship turned into love that all began with their first kiss at a Michael Jackson coverband concert.  Love would take them from Boone, to Raleigh, to Michigan and then on a chilly St. Partick’s day Keith asked Kristin to marry him by tying a ring to their puppies neck and the rest is history.  Did I mention he had set up 3 iPads and an iPhone in the room so that their families could watch it all unfold?

Every part of this collection is amazing, so I decided to split the blog into two parts: The Engagement and The Wedding.

I was so thrilled when I received a call from Jean and Joe asking me to capture their  2013 Summer wedding at one of my favorite Asheville venues, Hawk and Ivy. From the first time we spoke, I knew their wedding was going to be something amazing and as you will see from the photos, they did not disappoint.

Jean and Joe both love the outdoors and the mountains (Joe proposed on a hike), so it was no surprise they chose the  Hawk and Ivy to celebrate tying the not. Located amongst the Blue Ridge Mountains, the venue boasts a rustic barn with an amazing mountain view ceremony location.  To make it even more special, the owner did all the floral from the flowers she grows on her property.

It was a beautiful day and even the looming rain clouds added to the majesty of the event. Jean and Joe decided to see each other before the ceremony so they could capture their first look privately and as you can tell from the photos, the moment was intimate and full of joy.  Their ceremony took place in an open field, officiated by the owner of Hawk and Ivy, where they were surrounded by their closest friends and family.

The celebrated the night away with dancing, toasts and some amazing cake from the talented Karen Donatelli. There many tears, lots of laughs and a tremendous amount of love. From start to finish, it was an amazing night to photograph and a true honor to be a part of. Last week I received a call from Jean and Joe who were coming to town pick up their wedding album. Seeing Jean’s contagious smile reminded again me of how much I loved working with them, so I just had to share this wedding. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!Pin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin ImagePin Image
